Chapter 1325

---

“I sent Keith and Trent to the hospital to watch over Bagot. If he wakes up, they’ll send me a message right away.”
Maloney nodded and asked, “Who do you think is responsible? Could it be one of the six leading families?”
Hannah said calmly, “I know you suspect the Lyons family, but I doubt that’s likely. If they wanted to cause panic, they wouldn’t have targeted a member of the Delgado family. Why him?
The Delgado and Juarez families are here merely because they are now among the six leading families. They came just to go through the motions.

What Remington really wants is cooperation with only the Pierce and Compton families. If he intended to threaten them, he wouldn’t start with the Delgado family.”
Hannah narrowed her eyes and continued, “A man as arrogant as him would start with the most challenging target.”
After listening to Hannah, Maloney felt somewhat enlightened but still puzzled. “Who could it be then?”
“The security at Remington’s manor is exceptionally tight. It’s tough for outsiders to get in. You’re right about one thing. The culprits must be from one of the six leading families. The Chadwich family…”
Speaking of the Chadwich family, Hannah hesitated briefly. “It seems unlikely to be the Chadwich family. If they are indeed found to be involved, the major families could easily band together to dismantle the Chadwich family.”
As they were talking, they unknowingly reached the fifth floor.
Standing at her door, Hannah said to Maloney, “Just be extra careful these next few days.”
Maloney couldn’t resist teasing her, “I’m not the likely target. But you, stirring up trouble the moment you arrived? You’re probably at the top of the hit list.”
After using her fingerprint to unlock it, Hannah opened the door and glanced back at Maloney. “Don’t be so sure just yet. If something does happen, don’t end up crying about your bad luck.”

“Tom”
Bang!
Before Maloney could continue, Hannah turned and shut the door behind her.
Maloney paused briefly, then scoffed and headed back to his own room downstairs, no longer interested in continuing the argument with Hannah.
Without thinking, he glanced downstairs. The spot where Remington had been was now empty.
The light had been on when Hannah left the room. But upon her return, it was dark.
“Bryson?”
Hannah called out but received no reply. Just as she was about to switch on the light, she was suddenly embraced from behind!
Expecting this from Bryson, Hannah burst into laughter against his chest. “I knew you were going to prank me like this again.”
Bryson rested his chin on her shoulder, his breath tickling her neck.
Hannah tilted her head to avoid his breath, but Bryson caught her chin from behind, tilting her head back up.
